Imaging Cinema is back again with a treat for aspiring film-makers and film enthusiasts. The workshop on ‘Emerging Trends in Cinema’ mentored by stalwarts like Dibakar Banerjee, R. Balki and Santosh Sivan was a big success. Following your aspirations, needs and enthusiasm we are back with yet another workshop. This 15 days workshop scheduled to happen in IIT Madras from the 10th to the 25th of June, 2012 is a comprehensive course on Screenwriting and Direction. No worries, we are here to get you in touch with the avant garde writers and directors. A comprehensive classroom-routine on Screenwriting and Film Direction with some of the biggest names in the Indian Film Industry, the Network and reputed Institutes like the Film and Television Institute of India and Whistling Woods. So don’t be surprised to see Anuraag Kashyap speaking about DEV D or Prakash Jha talking about expression of politics and power in Raajneeti.
Keep looking this space for more and check out the first page of Memento screenplay to know what kind of creative writing goes behind a one minute scene.
Good post. Liked it.
And when i started to get acquainted with screenplays, Memento was the 1st one which i read. I am great fan of Nolan and I must have read screenplay of Memento nearly 10-15 times.

Hey Rahul
The names you’ve mentioned are on everyone’s wish list. Thanks for the suggestion.
The workshop sounds great but it may clash with the FTII entrance exam 😦
what’s the exact dates, please?
it surely wont clash with FTII yaar … xams on 5th na … even if the workshop is in may it’ll start only by 2nd week i guess …
Most probably it won’t coincide and we have a big surprise for you guys…..
Heck! I can’t resist. Hint: Be ready for your big break! 🙂
Hi nonie
will post the dates soon; lets say first week of Feb
PLEASE do try & avoid bringing in non-interactive guys like Vishnuvardhan … tht was srsly unnecessary … he just sat thr & wanted us to ask him questions … it was more like a press-conference .. 😦
DR.KAMAL HASSAN man!!!! Get him too!!! 😛
Oh yes … Get Him Back 😀 😀 … Missed him the last time ….
Kamal Hassan has already been a part of us and we are looking for diversity but your preferences will be considered.
Hello Prithvi
Thanks for the spost.
We promise you something that will be very intense and useful. Keep watching this space.
It can also Clash Btw Film Apprication of FTI, So Please try to keep this in May, in June FTI has Film Apprication
I don’t think the Film Appreciation of FTII is happening this time. Instead they have other two courses in
March. It’s better you confirm with them though.
wad r they ?
even if new course, they have to miss either right
if Properly scheduled
Ppl can attend Both, Though My View!

Because its a screenwriting workshop, i would like to mention this man’s name who according to me is even more skilled than those bollywood big guns… Having received a National Award in only his 2nd movie.. VETRIMARAN is my choice for the day.. Aadukalam’s casting and screenplay, jus mindblowing!! he might be busy with his VADA CHENNAI flick, yet wanted to mention him…
A nice suggestion indeed. We are well aware of Mr. Vetrimaaran and will try our best to pitch him in.
Hi Team,
My suggestion for screen play writers – Dir Bagyaraj – a celebrated screen play writer in the country for Indian way of film making, Dir Parthiban, Danny Boyle may be…, ,Dir Tarsem, Dir Manoj N Shyamalan, Mani Sir, Dir Sanjay leela bhansali, Dir Raj Kumar Hirani, Dir Rohit shetty, Dir Bandi saroj kumar, Dir K Viswanath, looking out for mix of different ages and multiple genres and varied styles of film making….!!!!
Good Venture for those not in the industry. Particularly for people in the education sector where Principal”s like me will make future generations to get into myriad professions and make them be self sustained in approach.
Hope we too find it to the teams and benefit out of it.
Dear Mr. Jadhav,
What about the fees? for students??
Am planning to also join the ImageCinema workshop at your campus; can I get a discount for joining both.
Being students you know the difficulty in getting hands on money; do bring out a solution in your policy on this one.
Await info.
